  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Fleischmann’s Corn Starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

Gougeres
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. To a saucepan over medium heat add water, milk & butter. Bring to a gentle simmer & lower heat.

  3. Add the flour, cornstarch & salt. Vigorously stir until dough comes together. Transfer to a mixing bowl & let cool slightly.

  4. Add the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. Fold in the cheeses, nutmeg & pepper. Transfer batter to a piping bag fitted with a round tip.

  5. On the prepared baking sheet, pipe dough into 12 evenly sized rounds. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, until fully puffed & golden. Do not open the oven door as it bakes, as you don’t want any heat to escape!

  6. Let cool slightly & serve!
